Lead Time

Due to the essential washdown procedures to maintain print quality and prevent issues like clogged printheads on our HP Indigo Digital Press, ideally, we like to batch multiple orders with Spot White Ink together to keep maintenance to a minimum. However, we understand some jobs may be urgent, so we offer an express service covering the maintenance charge if required.

CMYK only - Standard 3-4

Jobs printed CMYK only without the addition of white ink, will be subject to our standard 3-4 working day lead time.

White Ink - Standard 7-14

“Patience is a virtue” Opt for the economical standard service to benefit from our lowest price - we pass the savings made on maintenance back to our customers. Feel free to contact us for the current estimated lead times on our standard service. Depending on the workflow, maybe you'll time it right and receive your order quicker than anticipated.

White Ink - Express 3-4 Working Days

Need your cards ASAP? Opt for the express service for an additional £30 to cover machine maintenance washdown procedures, and we'll aim to dispatch within 48 hours of receipt of order.

White Ink Info

HP Indigo presses use white ink primarily to enhance colour vibrancy and create stunning visual effects on a variety of substrates, especially when printing on coloured or dark materials. White ink acts as an undercoat, similar to a primer, allowing colours to stand out more vividly and preventing them from being muted by the background colour. It also enables unique design possibilities on materials with reflective or holographic properties. White ink is also used for various speciality applications, such as printing on clear substrates, creating textured effects, and producing high-contrast black and white designs.

Artwork requirements

Please supply press-ready artwork, ideally in PDF format, set CMYK with 3mm of bleed on all edges and offset crop marks applied.

Where possible, please ensure artwork is centred without colour bars or file information applied; these are not required and often result in files being positioned incorrectly when using our imposition software.

Please note that due to cutting tolerances, we advise setting all elements of your design that aren’t intended to bleed off a minimum of 5mm from all edges to avoid cutting issues.

White Ink setup requirements

Please supply your white ink setup as a separate page/file with all elements of the design which require white ink in position set solid magenta only (C0/M100/Y0/K0). Add any instructions to the notes section on your order. Not sure? Give us a shout, we’re happy to help!

Need help amending your existing artwork? No problem, our studio team can amend files and send a PDF proof for approval from as little as £10. Send your enquiry along with your artwork to orders@apprint.co.uk
